I’m a potter from Wollongong, a city on the strip of land between the Blue Mountains and the Pacific Ocean on the eastern seaboard of Australia. After a 40 year career in Courts administration (the past 20 years as the Chamber Magistrate at Wollongong Local Court), I now make and fire my pigment lustres.

Reduced-pigment lustre has defied large-scale production, being dependent on a specialised third firing and using a reducing flame ( I fire with cypress pine, high in resin), making its results unrepeatable and thus unique.

The unpredictability with its inherent risks,  make this form of lustre both challenging and exciting.

My production is limited but I try to hold an exhibition and sale every 2 years or so.
